15" by 23", this towel combines the practicality of huck linen, that textured weave of Irish linen so prized by our mothers and grandmothers for its absorbency and lint-free polishing, with exquisite hand finishing. Lengthwise edges are selvege; closely-worked buttonhole stitching finishes scalloped ends. A 3" tall, bow-tied, floral wreath frames the Old English monogram B. Heavily padded satin stitch adds that three-dimensional effect to the entire design. There is a light discoloration on the folded back part and a 1/2" rough textured area (either a weaving flaw or a very neat mend) on the other folded back part.
