T-25....An Antique Towel For Bedroom Or Bath Chrysanthlemum Pattern----Hand Knotted Fringe Pattern

22 1/2" by 45", including fringe, this towel combines a lovely damask woven pattern with hand finishing. Lengthwise edges are selvege; both ends are finished with knotted lace fringe. A pair of drawnwork lace stripes at either end outlines a stripe of BIG, FLUFFY, 6" diameter, damask-woven chrysanthlemums. Smaller chrysanthlemums scatter over the central ground. Horizontal threads have been drawn from the fabric to form lace stripes and fringe. Remaining threads within the stripes have been worked into X-patterns. Fringe threads are pulled into groups knotted into an open-diamonds lace pattern before extending into loose fringe. This towel was stored for many years and there is a light, dusty fold line; no spots or stains. It is in excellent condition. *vintage: gently used; posessing age, charm, character, maturity
