H-1572 A Lovely Souvenir Hanky

White outline stitch embroidery on red background identifies "MALTA" as the home of the souvenir.

1 3/4" to 3 1/2" (diagonally in the corners) lace borders the fabric. Maltese lace is a special form of Cluny bobbin lace featuring wheatear Maltese crosses; and these are incorporated into the four corners of the central square around the fabric.

This hanky is in very good condition; it appears never to have been used.
