D-27 Set of 6 Antique Doilies

1/2" fringe finishes the edges.

Drawnwork stripes outline the square. Selected threads are removed from the fabric to create openwork stripes. Remaining threads are pulled together into X-patterns and over-woven with small wheel patterns. Tenerife crosses, wheels and fans are woven into open squares in the corners.

Three of the doilies show very similar lace patterns; three are quite distinct.

These doilies have been stored for a long time. They are creamy with age; one has a 1/4" spot and most are dingy along the edges. However, they are in excellent condition and appear never to have been used.
