38" by 51", this coverlet will look wonderful on that special someone's crib or small bed.Lengthwise edges are selvege; both ends are hand-hemmed. The top design, 6" by 13 1/2", Papa Bear and two little bears, will spread across the pillow area.
The center design, 20" by 20", little girl with doll meeting fairy with blue bird, will cover the central area of the bed.
The designs were created in two stages; print and embroidery. Gold, brown, black and very light flesh-tone fill larger areas with soft color. Vivid colors and big running-stitches outline the design and add details. Petal stitch on the bonnet and satin stitch on the wings complete the needlework.
This bedspread has been stored for quite a while and, as you can see in my photos, there is dust in the folds. However, it is in excellent condition.
It appears to have been seldom, if ever, used.
